Anyone got the bug?

I know it's been a while since we have shot and shared but I am feeling inspired with all the change of season. Beautiful colors are all around and if your all up for it maybe share a photo of what fall means to you or why you like it or just something appreciative for this season. There's no dead line just whenever you find your inspiration.

Thanks,
Roxana

Week 5 - Looking In

Week 5 - Looking In

One of my favorite shots so far. My buddy Aaron and I dusted off our paintball gear and went paintballing at Camp Pendleton today. In preparing my gear inspiration hit, and it turned out better than expected.

My first idea was to take a photo down the barrel of my gun, which came out crappy as in that perspective you have no idea what your looking down. Then the idea was to "look in" to my googles. So I setup a tripod and staged a self portrait.

If you look real hard, you can see my eye through the googles, click the photo for a higher resolution photo, its awesome!

Looking In

Week 5 ~ Looking In

Looking In, Week 5, Project 52
f/5.6, ISO 400, 1/25

Looking into the garage at that ole red Mustang.

I really couldn't 'feel' this weeks assignment. I was feeling like a stalker whenever I thought about looking in. I don't really know why...

But then I was walking around the house to get a dog toy and I saw this. So I continued through the garage and into the house to grab the camera to take the shot.

UP!

Week 4 - Temptation

Week 4 - Temptation

A few weeks ago my sister had me watch her dog, which was a mistake because it ate all the treats and was throwing up when Nicole came to pick her up. To kill some time, I decided to share the gloriousness that is "Dexter"

The "temptation" part of this is that you cant just watch one episode of dexter. I am all caught up with all five seasons of Dexter, and it took all the effort in the world to not start all over from the beginning and rewatch.

On a photography side of things, I realized it is near impossible to take a good photo of something on TV. I must have took dozens of photos and nothing really compared to like a screenshot on a computer.

Up!

Week 2: Up

'Up Atop The Parking Structure!'

Project 52 Week 2 - Up
f6.1, 1/30, ISO 400

For the Up picture this week I really wanted to get a shot of the skydivers by my building at work. So why isn't this a skydiver picture? Because they didn't dive at all this week. Fantastic. So we took the Mustang to the top of the parking structure at the mall in Temecula.

This shot was taken moments before the mall security came to us and said we had to stop taking pictures. Apparently you aren't allowed to take pictures on mall property, who knew?! So we packed up and went home.

PS- I may still get a sky diver shot at some point and post it.

Week 2 - Up

Week 2 - Up - Temecula CVB Ceiling

The other day I visited the Temecula Convention and Visitor's Bureau and noticed they have an amazing ceiling. What a genius idea to get tiles printed and use on the ceiling. Gives me the idea to get some famous art printed and put it in my kitchen ceiling.

Project 52

We hope that you enjoyed our 30 Day Photo Challenge!

Personally, I was sad that our project was done. I wanted to keep doing something like this.

So I googled and found a few more differently themed 30 Day Challenges but I didn't want to do another 30 day one for two reasons: 1~ Sometimes life just gets in the way of you being able to take and/or post your picture. 2~ once some people got too far behind it was simply too daunting to try and catch up. I didn't want either of those things to happen again.

I continued my Google search of something that we could do. And then I found it!!

Project 52 It is a weekly themed picture post! Perfect!

One whole year of picture posting!! I can't wait!!

Our 'week' will be Monday - Sunday. So each Monday will start the new week of each theme.

Now for this project we are going to shake things up a bit as far as our posting style goes: For each weeks theme each person is going to have their own post. This is so we can either tell a little story about how we got our picture, how we came up for the idea, if we want to post multiple pictures, how we edited it...anything we want really.

Also, we made all of our labels search-able (thanks Jon Hall!). So if you want to see any posts by a certain person, or a certain week, or by challenge you can simply clink on that label and it will bring them up for you!

I hope that you will enjoy this upcoming project as much as we will!

Day 25 - SOOC and Favorite Edit

Day 25 - Favorite Edit
Jonathan Hall
My favorite edit was the Auto Mall sign I shot for the Technology Day. Shooting over 50 photos over an hour I chose this one as my best SOOC(straight out of camera) photo. I then proceeded to us Adobe Lightroom to enhance my RAW photo in four ways:
  • Enhanced saturation the sunset to match what I saw IRL.
  • Enhanced the yellows to be more vibrant.
  • Used the tool to underexpose the center of the screen to show the logo.
  • Used the tool to overexpose the grass on the hill to give the illusion the light was spilling onto the ground to show the poppies.

Roxana "Favorite Edits" BEFORE f/2 ISO 100 1/3200

I love to add vignetting to my photos and saturation to the colors as well.
Those are my two favorite edits.

Day 12, Technology, Tara
Tara Johnson, Favorite Edit: Technology. I just love the way this pic came out. I did what I always do to mine, adjust the curves balance, saturation and sharpen edges. I, unfortunately, don't have the original of this photo anymore, it accidentally got erased :(
